a Federal mahogany writing or side table; while common during the English Regency period, this is a rare form in American furniture; the reserves of figured mahogany above each leg are accented by inlaid brass stringing; in excellent condition with an old, underside batten repair to a check in the one-board top; minor veneer patching and some surface ink and bleaching due to use; tulip poplar secondary wood; the hardware is replaced; the back is fully finished so that the table might be pulled away from the wall; dimensions: 30 3/4" tall x 36 1/2" wide x 19 3/4" deep (scroll down for details)
