Ketterer and Kunst Auctioneers, Germany

A private collector at the sale went home with this 13″ x 17″ vivid and crisp relined still life oil on canvas. The unsigned painting was attributed to Johann Wilhelm Preyer (1803-1889) and sold just under the $15,000/25,000 estimate for $12,650. A print (not shown) identical to and apparently made from this painting, signed “J W Preyer,” was offered at the sale and brought $345. Sideli photo. Robert C.
