A late Federal mahogany card table; the trumpet feet, the heavy “Roman fasces” reeding of the legs, and the triple reeding of the top leaves, are all Baltimore’s response to the English Regency style; the figured mahogany tablets in the center of the apron and above the legs set this example apart from a very popular Baltimore form; poplar and oak secondary woods; repairs to hinge insets, rear right leg at juncture with apron, and mortise and tenon between working leg and fly rail; a similar table can be seen in Classical Maryland, 1815-1845, fig. 152 on page 126
